Unfortunate but expected.
The LT3 has also apparently been shelved. Would have been nice to to see it in the C8 Corvette. The C8 will probably start out with ~500 hp LT2, then move up to forced induction from there.

Where’s the dislike button for this post?
Kidding aside, this is disappointing but probably not a surprise. They’ll probably redirect the savings to a badge and stripe package for a Traverse SS.
Full of the sound of the Gran Fury, signifying nothing.

But not to f ear - Dodge will still sell you a new Challenger in 2023 , based on the current chassis, of course.

Fu nny how history repeats its self.
Camaro out sells mustang, the next generation comes out promising to be better than the previous, performance increases but customer complaints over looked . Sales tank and wonders why and then cancels the platform.
Sound familiar? This happened with the 4th gen and now with the 6th.
Iroc out sells mustang in 85, 5th gen out sells mustang.
6th gen performance increases. 4th gen makes the LT and LS affordable and performance strongly increases.
GM doesn’t listen to cosmetic and fit/finish issues, GM doesn’t listen to cosmetic and visibility issues.
Sales drop and platform shelved. Main difference now is FCA is laughing all the way to the bank on a 10 year old platform

It’s because the 2024 7th Gen will probably be all electric.
We know Al Oppenheiser at GM is on an electric project now...

I’ve been seeing the headlines the past few days and thinking the exact same thing.

The Challenger is a winner IMHO. And that is coming from a Mustang guy.

GM still too stupid to give the Camaro T-tops and real windows
If they still came with T-tops, they’d still be selling just fine

It’s a muscle car in almost every iteration. If you’d like to drive it on a track that has things called “curves”, you can, but it’s made for straight line performance and looking cool.
And that’s cool.

I review cars as a hobby... The R/T might not be the fastest of the bunch but with the shaker it ticks most all the other options. A 392 shaker in destroyer grey with the 6 speed
has been on my wishlist for a daily after that. Because I just can’t get over the fact my 2005 Mustang GT is a direct match for it.
Shameless Self Promotion

I’ve seen some of your videos before (very entertaining!). My pastor at my church was given a Dodge Challenger as a loaner by a dealership-owning parishioner. A Dodge Challenger 392 Scat Pack manual with a Shaker hood. The SOB didn’t understand that he was driving a unicorn.

I dont mind the Mustangs and understand why Ford went d ohc, but there is something to say about the grunt of a pushrod v8. And if I were buying one tomorrow it would be the challenger. And I'm a Camaro guy

The Challenger is the car for people who don't kid themselves about being a track rat and just want a comfy, cool looking car that can roast the tires in fourth gear while they laugh like a maniac.

They loaned out a manual? That is pretty neat! I’d love to get my hands on one of those for a review.
And on my videos: I try my best to be entertaining, so to hear it from others that they enjoy it is a massive confidence boost and a huge part of why I keep doing it!
